WHAT WOULD JESUS BUY?

Morgan "Super Size Me" Spurlock's newest documentary is coming OUT this FRIDAY, and I don't mean in a gay way. I mean, in a Cinema Village way. The documentary, entitled, "What Would Jesus Buy?" stars Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir as they travel across the USA to save the multitudes of thick, fat Americans from the commercialization of Christmas. I am very excited and proud to say that I wrote a few of the songs featured in this film. You can hear them during the Christmas Caroling scene in the movie, when the Stop Shopping Choir goes door to door singing lyrics that I penned! It's a terrific scene and very funny. I do encourage you all to go and see the film THIS FRIDAY, Nov. 16th.

There will be a special Q & A after the 7:05 and the 9:20 PM showings where Morgan Spurlock and Reverend Billy will be on hand to hand-resolve all your pressing concerns and inquiries.

Hello from Hotlanta!

Well you're not the only one that can mingle with the politicos(sp.) I attended The Power Lunch sponsered by Neal Boortz(yes co-author, Fair Tax) Congressman John Linder, and Former Speaker Newt Gingrich. No pictures but shook hands. You may not buy into all Newt has to say, but the man is brilliant.

08/17/07 - Delfino Checks In From The UK:

Things are going okay. I should be updating my blog, but I'm very busy, going to see lots of shows and hanging out with friends, plus I've been staying up really late most nights and then sleeping in!

I got some really decent reviews and good press. I got one awful review by a passionate feminist lesbian and two and a half really good reviews!

Here they are for ya:

In "List":

“Dirty but clever, shocking but sweet, sassy New Yorker Delfino dances a very funny line between girly and filthy with Songs About Vaginas. We are treated to sunny songs including "My Pussy Is Magic" but rather than smut for the sake of it, she uses her front bottom songbook to deal with emotionally charged break ups, inhibitions and unemployment. Her deadpan style lets her get away with murder.”

In "Three Weeks":

“Listening to Jessica Delfino in action is just like going down a deep, dark, disgusting hole with a smile. But only a smile, because this is amusing and winsome rather than laugh out loud funny -- although she does have her moments. But enough cheap innuendo, because Miss Delfino is way past euphemisms. It's hard to be offended by someone who sings with her bizarre brand of manic innocence. And if you are offended...well what exactly were you expecting? I get the feeling that ladies may appreciate her loopy, but strangely knowing observations more -- since many men will most likely settle for the cheap titillation value. It's disgusting, it's dirty and deep down, it's what you really, really want.”

Here's the bad review, from "The Scotsman":

“I didn't just want a drink when I left this irritating little show, I wanted a radical hysterectomy. "If my vagina could talk, it would call your dick an asshole" trills the most compelling advert for Sharia law I have ever seen. When you see the horrors it can lead to, you realize estrogen should be a Class A drug.”

Hey there,

I will give you some slack only if the other books you've yet to finish are not"O'Bama My Way", or the Clinton Biograhies. I know I am beating this horse to a pulp, but momentum for the Fair Tax continues to grow. There will be a rally on 8/11 in Iowa, same time as the Iowas Straw poll, afterwards a Q&A with some of the canadates.
Also, I wanted to tell you the program I mentioned for Pate is a state program. Love state programs. It's called the HIPP program. Health Insurance Payment Premium. It helps families that would not ordinarily qualify for Medicad but could have additional issues due to their children with special needs.

Things are going really well here. The festival in Dublin was terrific. I met all these really well known and reputable and talented comedians and had so much fun. I sold a bunch of underwear and made tons of new fans. I was on the Russell Brand radio show, he's like the Howard Stern of London. I was kind of nervous, actually. But was on the show! Out to about 2 million listeners on the BBC!!

Dear Jessica, Loudmouth, and anyone else who cares to listen

Kudos folks----especially you Jessica. Way to raise the bar in comedy and put yourself out there for the worlds scrutiny. With a silver tongue and a plastic spork you will eat the hearts of men---and when you've got em by the heart----their minds and balls will follow.

I remain perpetually impressed and eagerly await for you to release whatever it is youre working on these days.

with much fan-love and man-glove!

I visited your web sight and listened to Jessy Delfino's song. It was very good and I wasn't at all offended. Actually her message nailed it. She reminds me of Joan B or Joni Mitichell. Two artists I used to listen to all the time in college. I'll be in Nashville this week. Another city with a rich music scene. I'm not a huge Country Western fan but I love the Blues and they have some great clubs.
It was very nice to meet you. I do love talking politics and as we both agreed, so many people have zoned out. Wouldn't it be nice if as many of us discussed the state of affairs in this country as much as American Idol. I read your blog and agree "Greening of America" is good if it brings on concrete solutions and doesn't become a political tool leading to bigger government. My concern is our freedoms that are being attacked on a daily basis. We are in a war we need to win and people need to recognize this. My conservative nature makes me more of a pragmatist and I think the one thing that would put this country back on the right track is true tax reform. That sounds basic but the ramifications would be huge. Read the "Fair Tax" and see what you think. If you are serious about entering politics this is something that people, Democract and Republican alike, could get behind. Well there I go again. I could go on and on but I have probably put you to sleep by now.

Yes but, on that same show Bill Maher posed this question: If contributing to the health of the environment meant we all had to give up our remotes and get off our asses each time we wanted to change the channel, would we do it (I'm papaphrasing here)? Hmmmm. I think that might encourage reading.

I want to kick this off by saying that anyone who has something to say should write us and say it. We’d like this to be as interactive as possible. The object is to include as many different points of view as are offered. Send us an email (we’ll add it). From time to time you’ll see LOUDMOUTH artists and friends of LOUDMOUTH (FOLs?), weighing in as well. Music or politics, it doesn’t matter. If you feel strongly about something, let us know.

While channel surfing and thinking about a worthy first entry for this Blog, I happened to catch Bill Maher’s show. He and former Senator Bill Bradley were talking about “big ideas” and Maher was saying that he didn’t think America “had the chops” to do big things anymore. Dollar Bill (looking a tad irritated), immediately disagreed citing the Moon landing and civil rights advances, to which Maher replied: “Forty years ago, Bill.” It got me thinking about whether an American could really give up on America. It also got me thinking about what the next “big thing” might be. Almost on cue, it popped up one morning in the Sunday New York Times magazine in an article by Tom Friedman titled: The Power Of Green. (Read it, if you get a chance). Actually, it’s popping up all over the place: The “Greening” of America. From Silicon Valley, where the hottest new venture capital opportunities can be found in start-up alternative energy companies, to here in New York with PLENTY magazine’s PLENTY TWENTY Green companies that are gonna change the world. And everything in between, such as Willie Nelson’s BioWillie brand bio-diesel fuel (creating a possible future dilemma for the guy, as to whether to smoke it or put it in his gas tank), and a small company that sells an attachment that allows your diesel engine to run on chicken grease! Who says we’re out of big ideas? America will innovate as spectacularly as it ever has, and these are the next big things we are gonna do. To paraphrase Tom Friedman: the new red, white & blue is Green.
